2024 was a milestone for the blog as it turned 10 years old and it was also the year of change! I’ve decided to change the name from The Colourful Bouquet to my name Joanna Tsaousidou. In 2024 I had some of the best days of my life! This is the year I became the koumbara (maid of honour in the Greek Orthodox wedding) to my best friend’s wedding! But let’s have a monthly 2024 recap!

The preparations for my best friend’s wedding were in full swing so I went to Greece to help her with some of the things she needed.

Another reason I went to Greece at the end of February and beginning of March was to be with my best friend when she was trying wedding dresses for the first time! Needless to say I cried! Seeing your best friend of 21 years in a wedding dress is such a beautiful moment! Another highlight was my 11th year anniversary with my boyfriend Alex!

April didn’t have a major highlight, it was more of a preparation for what was coming!

May was one of the most lovely months! I finally finished sewing the dress that I would wear to the wedding party of my best friend’s wedding. Started another sewing project that I had to finish in a month. It was also a very productive month regarding content as I had my top 3 photoshoots of the year! I’ll do a separate post on these.

Halfway through the recap and I don’t know where to start with June! Hands down one of the top two months of the year! It started with a house warming party for one of our newly homeowner friends in the Netherlands! Celebrating your friends’ milestones will forever be one of my favourite things to do. And then I went to one of the best trips of my life so far! We went to the UK, spend time with old friends, met new friends and attended Royal Ascot! And wearing a set I handmade myself was such a pinch me moment!

Preparations for the bachelorette party started!

August top highlights
August was one of the hardest months physically and mentally but I made it! I’m an esthetician so the workload on the beauty studio in combination with organizing a bachelorette party from a different country was intense! But the highlights of the month was obviously my birthday and a work success on the studio.

Right before I left for Greece, my two Italian friends and I celebrated our birthdays in the Netherlands and it was amazing! But the highlight of highlights was the 3 day bachelorette of my best friend. We started the celebrations with a Friday night at disco, had a sleepover at my house like we used to do in high school on Saturday and finished with a Sunday brunch in my garden. Our dog was also the star of the show as she delivered a message to the bride!

The wedding of my best friend was in the beginning of October and was the highlight of highlights! We had so much fun and the fact that I stood next to her on her big day meant the world to me! Magical is the only appropriate word to use to describe the feeling! I also celebrated with my friends in Greece another major work success!

November top highlights
November was overall a very relaxed month after all the craziness of October! At the end of it my friends in the Netherlands and I had a lovely get together to decorate the Christmas tree in one of the friend’s houses and it’s fair to say we just started a new tradition!

December top highlights
Hands down the best thing in December, obviously apart from Christmas and the gifts, haha, was my visit to the Dior exhibition in the Kunstmuseum in The Hague.
