Wedding guest summer outfit

It’s wedding’s season and the first question that pops in mind is what to wear! I can totally feel you especially if the person that gets married is a close relative. The problem starts the moment you realize that you “don’t have anything to wear!”. Normally the past years I would buy something new but this time I didn’t want to.

To be honest I wanted to buy some pieces from ASOS but I couldn’t find any of these in my size. I didn’t want to buy something to wear it only once so the typical wedding guest outfits was out of question. It’s also hard living in the Netherlands (it’s summer and it’s raining all the time!) and buying something for a Greek wedding (that day it had probably 38 Celsius degrees!). Most likely, you won’t wear it again any time soon!  That’s why after a long thought I decided to go for a piece of clothing that I already owned.

This blue dress is an oldie but goodie. I bought it a few years ago for my cousin’s wedding and it was the perfect time to wear it again. The design is on point because it has the frills and the colour is a timeless blue. I wasn’t sure though if it could fit because it was three years I think since the last time that I wore it. To be sure I had another outfit in my head in case that this didn’t work. Luckily it still fitted me! I combined it with rose gold and gold accessories from Audaviv and Cluse. For shoes I chose to wear these nude sandals and I had a nude bag.

Το καλοκαίρι είναι ξεκάθαρα η περίοδος των γάμων και η πρώτη ερώτηση που έρχεται στο μυαλό μας είναι τι θα φορέσω! Σας καταλαβαίνω απόλυτα ειδικά αν το πρόσωπο που παντρεύεται είναι κοντινός συγγενής. Το πρόβλημα ξεκινάει οταν συνειδητοποιήσεις πως “δεν έχεις τίποτα να φορέσεις”. Γενικά τα προηγούμενα χρόνια συνήθιζα να αγοράζω καινούργια ρούχα για τέτοιες περιστάσεις αλλά αυτό δεν ίσχυε για φέτος.

Για να είμαι απόλυτα ειλικρινής εντόπισα κάποια ρούχα στο ASOS αλλά δεν έβρισκα σε κανένα το νούμερο μου. Δεν ήθελα όμως να αγοράσω κάτι που δεν θα το ξαναφορούσα οπότε το τυπικό “καλό” ρούχο που θα φορούσε κάποιος στον γάμο ήταν μη συζητήσιμο. Επίσης θα έλεγα οτι είναι δύσκολο να αγοράσεις κάτι για γάμο το καλοκαίρι στην Ελλάδα (πρέπει να είχε περίπου 38 βαθμούς εκείνη την ημέρα) και να μπορείς να το φορέσεις στην Ολλανδία (είναι Αύστουστος και η θερμοκρασία δεν ανέβηκε εδώ και κάτι εβδομάδες πάνω απο τους 24 βαθμους. Να μην σχολιάσω οτι βρέχει και συνέχεια!). Το πιο πιθανό είναι πως οτι και να έπαιρνα δεν θα το ξαναφορούσα σύντομα! Έτσι λοιπόν μετά απο αρκετή σκέψη κατέληξα στο να φορέσω κάτι που ήδη είχα στην ντουλάπα μου.

Το συγκεκριμένο μπλε φόρεμα είναι παλιό αλλά αγαπημένο. Το αγόρασα μερικά χρόνια πριν για τον γάμο της ξαδέρφης μου και ήταν η τέλεια στιγμή να το ξαναφορέσω. Τα βολάν είναι trend αυτήν την στιγμή και το χρώμα του είναι ένα διαχρονικό μπλε. Δεν ήμουν βέβαιη όμως οτι μου έκανε καθώς είχα να το φορέσω περίπου 3 χρόνια. Να να είναι σίγουρη λοιπόν πήρα μαζί μου και ένα εναλλακτικό σύνολο. Ευτυχώς όμως μου έκανε ακόμα και έτσι δεν το πολυσκέφτηκα. Το συνδύασα με χρυσά και ροζ χρυσά αξερουαρ από Audaviv και Cluse! Για παπούτσια επέλεξα ένα ζευγάρι ψηλά nude πέδιλα και όσο για την τσάντα επέλεγα ένα clutch σε ανοιχτή ροζ απόχρωση.

Πως σας φαινεται; Εσείς είστε ο τύπος ανθρώπου που αγοράζει καινούργιο σύνολο σε κάθε περίσταση ή ανακυκλώνετε τα ρούχα σας; Δεν μπόρεσα να βρώ το ίδιο φόρεμα αλλά παρακάτω μπορείτε να βρείτε κάποιες πολύ cool επίλογές αν θέλετε να ψωνίσετε!

    you look very pretty in this dress! 🙂

    I’m invited for a hungarian wedding in the following week and I have the same thoughts as you! 😀 Buy a new dress what I couldn’t wear in England (because of the weather) or recycle an older item? At the end I found a dress what I couldn’t leave in the shop ( and my husband liked as well!) but especially with the summer clothes I prefer to recycle!
