The colour
Every year Pantone Color Institute selects a colour to be the colour of the year and for 2025, the Pantone Color Institute selects PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. According to Pantone and I quote “Mocha Mousse is a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.”

Mocha mousse in beauty
There are different ways to incorporate the trend in your life through your makeup or nails for example. If you are not the biggest fan of brown so you don’t see yourself wearing it as a nail polish or a lipstick you can incorporate it in your eye look. For example you can go for a beautiful clean eye makeup look using brown tones in eyeshadow or go for a brown eyeliner. Brown eyeliner looks amazing on people with lighter features as it’s not as harsh as black. Same goes for brown mascara.

Colour combinations with Mocha mousse
Arguably one of the most beautiful brown tones, the Mocha Mousse shade, works very well with neutral shades as well as with a pop of colour. You can combine it in your makeup with green, pink, blue and of course beige, grey, darker brown shades or gold. The Mocha Mousse is a great base to built an eye makeup look and take it to any direction you want.
If you are a fan of brown lips this is your year to shine! From a very rich in colour lipstick to a light intensity lip oil the combinations are countless! If you still want to play with the colour on your lips but you are not very font of brown lips I would suggest going for a lip gloss or lip oil. They tend to be less opaque and you can always wear them over a different colour lipstick or lip pencil like pink for example if you decide that brown is not your vibe.
Regarding nails you can go for a monochromatic look or play with nail art with the colours mentioned above.
