I’m probably the last person on planet Earth that tried the Laura Mercier Translucent powder!  Honestly I don’t know why it took me so long to give it a go. But on Black Friday I finally decided to buy it and here I am to tell you my opinion about it. You think that the huge amount of reviews that already exist on the internet about this powder would stop me from making another one but no! Here I am writing the review no.149052874 about it, haha!

According to website  it has a 12 Hour matte finish , it has a weightless texture, no photo flashback and it comes in two shades for virtually all skintones. The Translucent which is perfect for fair to medium and tan skin tones and the Translucent Medium Deep which is ideal for medium-deep to deep skin tones. It’s oil-free, non-comedogenic, non-caking and dermatologically-tested.

Size and best value

Got mine from Lookfantastic and I went for the small size to try it. I use it for at least 6 months now and it still has at least half product left. For sure I’ll get it again in the future but I’m torn between the big and the small size. Although I find the small one ideal for travelling, the big one will last longer. I’ ll probably go for the bigger one though as it’s best value.

Performance and duration

After trying it there is no surprise why everybody loves the Laura Mercier translucent powder. First of all it doesn’t dry the skin or emphasizes the lines around the eyes very much. It doesn’t smell, it has a great longevity and the skin feels soft. It sets the makeup beautifully and the skin looks flawless. Because it’s translucent it doesn’t change the colour of your foundation and never looks cakey. I also noticed that there is no-flashback and it looks perfect on photos. I really can’t find anything bad to say about it!

Application

I place a small amount on the lid and dip the puff or brush there. Personally I like to apply it underneath the eyes with a powder puff and on the rest of the face with a brush! The powder puff is ideal for underneath the eyes because it’s less messy with a loose product, it’s more directed (hope that makes sense!) and it can apply more amount of product. It doesn’t give a cakey result but if you think that you went a bit more heavy with it you can still use a brush to take the excess of product.

So overall I’m very happy with it and it’s my favourite from all the powders I’ve used all these years. I think I found my new “all time classic” product! Lately I noticed that I’m not so interested on trying a lot of new products anymore and I keep buying the ones I love the most over and over again. Which don’t get me wrong is fine but at the same time you might miss a better product! So I decided to keep testing makeup products in which I haven’t found “the one” yet. For the rest I’ll continue buying my favourite ones until they are not favourites any more, haha! It happened to me in the past a lot of times. Some of my favourite products were either discontinued or the brand changed the “recipe” or my skin changed and the product didn’t sit well anymore.

That was it for today you guys. Hope you found the review helpful! Do you have the Laura Mercier translucent powder? Let me know if you tried any other product of the brand and how you like. See you next week! Kisses!
