✨ Real Talk ✨
As many of you know, I’m an esthetician, and I get to talk with so many incredible women about how they feel in their skin and about their bodies. 💖

One thing I hear a lot, especially from younger women, is how social media has shaped this unrealistic idea of “perfection.” And honestly? I get it. I’ve been there too. I’ve posted the perfectly lit photos, the curated videos, the flawless angles. 📸

But something shifted for me recently. I’ve been bloated for over two months, mostly due to anxiety. I struggle with anxiety for years and the physical symptoms vary depending on the year. When I manage to overcome one symptom another one pops up! It’s like playing a game a going up levels 😂 The new level that I unlocked at some point late 2023 was being bloated and have constant pain any time I pressed my stomach. In early 2024, after doing any possible exam, it got confirmed that it was anxiety. Since February though the bloating started getting even more. It peaked in April and May when I had also pain on the shoulder for weeks. I started a diet with a nutricionist to get rid of the bloat and it went very well but it made me rethink how I want to show up online.

I want to empower women to feel good in their bodies, not just inside my studio, but online too. That means slowly letting go of the “perfect feed” and embracing more real, raw, and honest content.

You’ll still see all the fashion, beauty and lifestyle content including the magical themed photoshoots I already share, but now you’ll also see the behind-the-scenes, the bloated days, the anxious moments — the real life.

It’s scary to be vulnerable, and I’m nervous about the comments... but it’s time. It’s time we normalize being human online.

The first photos from the latest photoshoot we did

The first photos from the latest photoshoot we did a couple weeks ago with @itschloe.nc 😍

The whole day the weather was meh but we believed it will get better and we didn’t cancel it. A couple of hours before sunset and the weather was suddently pure perfection! The lighting was amazing, the temperature was ideal and the photos turned out magical if I may say so myself 😍

I didn’t think we could ever match last year’s photoshoot with the Spring Goddess theme but this one did the trick! Should we name it Forest Fairy theme or do you have a better idea?

It’s been a bit more than a year now that I’m

It’s been a bit more than a year now that I’m embracing the no-makeup makeup and I stopped wearing lots of products and especially foundation. I will still go all the way for events and themed photoshoots but I find it a waste of time and products when I quickly film inside the house.
Bonus is that my skin is loving it so I plan to keep doing it!
For this look I used a bit of concealer, blush, eyeshadows, brow products, mascara, lip pencil and lipstick. For a professional makeup artist and esthetician that is less than the bare minimum! 😝 My view on makeup is to use it to enhance your beauty, not hide your insecurities. And of course use it as much as you want as long as it’s fun! But it stopped being fun for me to spend 1 hour to do my makeup for 15mins of filming. There were countless of times that I stopped myself from filming because I didn’t have a full face of makeup and I thought people would judge me if I didn’t have a full face of makeup when that’s my job! Turns out I do it for a year now and noone noticed or cared!
I guess the lesson here is to stop doing things for the sake of other people or out of fear of being judged! As long as you are a good and kind person what others think of you is not your problem!

Royal @ascotracecourse is this week and it reminded me of the amazing time I had last year when I attended! Although this year I’ll skip, I’m thinking to make it a yearly tradition from next year onwards! It was such an amazing experience and we had so much fun! 🏇

Thank goodness the weather is still chilly here in the Netherlands so I can still wear these combinations!

Favourite photoshoot we shot with my friend @itschloe.nc from last year!
Late spring and summer is our time to shine with photoshoots and the inspiration is flowing! It’s amazing to be so lucky to find a friend that you not only have the same aesthetic regarding photoshoot but you also get a simple idea and transform it together to something magical!
The theme of this photoshoot was spring goddess and the inspiration was flowers. Flowers as a decoration but also on the clothes. I handsew extra flowers and butterflies to the @chicwish corset top and it matched very well with the 3D rose skirt. The only appropriate shoe for this photoshoot was the Eve from @bellabelleshoes ! The embroidered flowers and the 3D butterflies make this pair of shoes the most stunning I’ve seen in my life 😍 I added flowers to my hair and on some of the flowers as well to tie everything together 🦋

Every year we do at least one photoshoot inspired by flowers but honestly I don’t think we can’t top this one! Stay tuned for this year’s photoshoots 😏

And I’m back again! It’s been almost a month

And I’m back again!

It’s been almost a month since I posted but I had to take this break because my shoulder and neck were in pain 😭 I’m an esthetician and my job is quite physical so I keep using my shoulder every single day. Due to not being able to get many days off in a row it took more time to heal (still not feeling 100%). I also wasn’t able to be on my phone and that’s why I disappeared for so long (looking down or even holding it made the situation worse). But it’s getting better, so I’ll be back to normal posting slowly but surely!

There are a few lessons I learned from this that I would like to share with you!

• The first one is that my sleep became better due to the fact that I couldn’t be on my phone that long and especially because I didn’t use it before bed. The difference on my sleep was insane so I’ve decided to keep the ‘no phone before bed’ policy from now on!

• The second one is to remind you that you have only one body and you need to take care of it and be gentle and loving with it especially when you are not feeling well! And most importantly, don’t be stupid like me and wait to get help when it’s too late! I’m sure it wouldn’t take so long if I took more days off in the beginning and went quicker to the doctor!

• The third one is about friendship! My mental health took a toll amid all this and I’m super grateful to all my friends that took the time to send me even a simple “how are you feeling” message ❤️ You guys know who you are and the impact you had this last month was huge ❤️ So my advice to all of you is to surround yourself with people that truly care for you and will always be there no matter what! Because having this support system is all you need to feel loved and fight anything bad that is happening in your life! And if you have friendships that for years only take and never give, it’s time to let go and that’s ok ❤️
